Hi Tim and everyone,

surely GFN-21 should be the main target to crunch during that challenge but it's quite a heavy task on a GPU. When anyone would like to boost FB Sprint with another subproject on a weaker hardware, why not? I see only advantages here.

Hi

Yes, agreed.

I would certainly hope that ACTIVE FB members would spread the word amongst their team members and get as many to take part in the GFN-21 sub-project challenge during the PG Challenge period - BUT, as you say it is pretty stressful for even quite recent GPUs, so this must also be taken into account.

There are still 12 days before the Challenge starts, so there is still time to generate lots of interest from BOINC members :-)

And if Sebastien can modify the stats collection coding, so that ONLY GFN-21 credits are actually counted during the period, then all the better :-)

I find your overwhelming faith disturbing :D

Code: Select all

28.11.2024 18:22:13 | Asteroids@home | Sending scheduler request: To fetch work.
28.11.2024 18:22:13 | Asteroids@home | Requesting new tasks for CPU and NVIDIA GPU
28.11.2024 18:22:14 | Asteroids@home | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
28.11.2024 18:22:14 | Asteroids@home | Project has no tasks available
Anyway it just takes more time to fill up the bunker. Let's go crunching!

Hi

As of right now here:

https://asteroidsathome.net/boinc/server_status.php
There are:
Tasks ready to send 1,827,664
Task data as of 28 Nov 2024, 19:24:32 UTC
But of course these might not be the tasks you are looking for ;-)

Perhaps, you do not want any CPU tasks and were waiting for some GPU tasks, which do seem to be quite rare at present.

https://statseb.boinc-af.org/synthese_m ... f&sort=rac

and then scroll to the lower "Tous les projets" section and click on the + sign next to PrimeGrid which will then show the sub-project stats.

But the current GFN stats do not appear on this page - but they may appear on another LA'F members page (but which I cannot find !)
You don't have genefer because you took my stats and I don't do any genefer for a long time, if you take our whole team stat you will find it.

Note this is not 21 only, it's all the genefers sub-projects combined, I assume this is because PG itself is not publishing more breaked-down stat data ?

So sad what is happening to Willy :(

Hi

Thanks for the message and feedback.

When I did a search on the LA'F stats website, (looking for PrimeGrid sub-project stats) it was by chance, your account that appeared so apologies for using YOUR stats as a reference, and yes I guessed that you were not crunching any GFN tasks.

And my French language skills are very limited and I found navigating to find another user (or even the team) stats very difficult.

But, I will now edit the previous post to show the teams stats as well !! 8-)

And just knowing that the total GFN sub-project stats are viewable is a good thing, because even if other GFN stats are combined with the GFN-21 stats, hopefully the total number of *all* the GFN BOINC credits earned should increase, if lots of members take part in this extra Challenge?

I'll leave the link to your stats for now, as it acts as a marker to show that PG does export the sub-project stats separately ;-)

best regards
Tim

Hi Tim,

today we've lost the first place in L3 User Stats. I mean it's gone :D
I suppose, you don't move users between leagues during ongoing sprint, so it looks a bit mystical.

Maybe that user found an inhabited asteroid, so he was simply abducted
Could you check it please? He might need our help out there...

With a sense of humor an best regards,

Hi

I think this just a "blip" in the stats so, as the data is cumulative from the start time/day until the end time/day, so such "errors" should be auto-corrected as the stats are gathered and updated every hour or so.

If it is a more "serious" error and does not fix itself over the next few hours, then I will email Sebastien as he is the best person to check the back-office stats collection function and the database table that is created from that data.

Maybe that user was singing along to David Bowie's Space Oddity:
Though I'm past one hundred thousand credits !!
I'm feeling very still
And I think my spaceship knows which way to go
Tell my wife I love her very much she knows

Ground Control to Major Tom
Your circuit's dead, there's something wrong
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear me, Major Tom? Can you-

Here am I floating 'round my tin can
Far above the moon
Planet Earth is blue
And there's nothing I can do

Hiya

As of the 11pm (BST) League 3 table, there is now a Member name in the #1 position. And NO, I do not move users during Sprints or at any other time, except when there is an announcement about it !

https://www.formula-boinc.org/sprints.p ... printid=25

But the user in position #3 is now missing...?

This seems very strange...so maybe I need to ask Sebastien about this omission?

EDIT: A further check
It looks like the member name is "Antares2022" and this member is also missing from the Sprint #2 stats which is also for the Asteroids project (and for which he earned 67 BOINC credits) and which is now NOT shown here, in position #39:

https://www.formula-boinc.org/sprints.p ... sprintid=4

Perhaps this user made a change on his BOINC account on this project and his stats are no longer being exported?

Tim

Is there any chance we could have the stats updated? :?
