Forum rules (as from 2021)

Hi all

I noticed that there does not appear to be any official written forum rules concerning what can and what cannot be posted within the forum.

Whilst any previous issues have been minimal, recent events have provoked some angry outbursts which have unsettled the forum, and some negative comments have been made which were entirely uncalled for.

So the following has been created and Sebastien has agreed for it to be posted:

Forum Rules:
While the administrators and moderators of this forum will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible, it is impossible to review every message. Therefore you acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and not the domain name owner, administrator(s), moderator(s) or webmaster (except for posts by these people) and hence will not be held liable.

You AGREE not to post any abusive, obscene, racist, homophobic, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-orientated or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being informed). The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. Posting accusational messages about alleged cheating by teams and/or members may also result in action being taken by Admin.

You AGREE not to offend, abuse or humiliate other members, by posting untrue, defamatory, litigious or discriminatory posts.

You AGREE to keep all posts "ON TOPIC" and related to Formula BOINC or the BOINC projects. Posts that are written here that seek to unsettle what is otherwise a friendly and good natured environment, will lead to a ban, or in rare circumstances, a removal of your account. Humour is allowed but it should be "family-friendly".

You AGREE that the domain name owner, administrator(s), moderator(s) and/or webmaster, of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at ANY time should they see fit.

As a user you AGREE to any information you have entered above being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent the domain name owner, administrator(s), moderator(s) and/or webmaster, cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.

Please do not try to hide embedded URLs in your messages - this will lead to the messages being deleted and your account/IP address being banned.

This forum system uses cookies to store information on your local computer. These cookies do not contain any of the information you have entered above; they serve only to improve your viewing pleasure. The e-mail address is used only for confirming your registration details and password (and for sending new passwords should you forget your current one).

If you want to upload links to your own software or you are looking to sell things through these fora then please PM one of the admins *BEFORE* posting otherwise the posts may be deleted.

This forum is designed specifically for BOINC supporters and members of all active BOINC teams and as such all posts should really be about these topics or should be along the lines of shared banter and camaraderie between like-minded members.

The Forum admins reserve the right to update/change the rules as and when required so as to keep the forum friendly and helpful and to ensure all members are treated with respect.
