Hiya

I think you should be just a little more patient?

I just got home from work and have now allowed one of my hosts to accept new Asteroid tasks and I got loads of CPU tasks, (but no GPU tasks right now).

So, maybe you should just leave it to download tasks while maybe crunching a backup project (which has been set with a zero resource share, so Asteroid tasks will download as a priority when your host does eventually connect to their server?)

HOWEVER: I have noticed that the FB Sprint #12 web page has no results yet (last update was at 5pm UTC) and the Asteroids website is running VERY slowly (if you can connect at all !)

There are tasks and there are stats on the FB on-going sprint page.

But asteroid website is not responding at all.

I joined around 0700 here in NSW Australia.

Am getting CPU AND GPU tasks, but it took a while. Also Asteroids home site is slooooooow.

For me it's more than slow, I can't access it.

But the website is not the most important thing

- do we get tasks, are they downloading/uploading ?
- are there stats generated and read by FB site ?

For the moment, it seems that yes.

Edit : oh I could just enter the server status page, it claims 1217963 available tasks :)

Hi all

I've contacted the Asteroids admin to find out what happened and why their server is so slow and unresponsive.

However, I have suggested that a web admin should check their logs and see if another DOS attack is ongoing which has happened before on a previous Sprint, which appeared to emanate from China, but IP addresses could have been "changed" to protect the guilty party/parties so, it'll be interested to see what they can advise me about.

In the meantime, there are tasks available so at the very least, the project will see an upsurge in completed tasks, even if the stats are not updated as efficiently as they could be.

Regarding stats on FB site it seems to be far off

Here I have 7k already for the day, and here I have 2k.

Hiya

Yes, this has been noted, but the FB stats are compiled/collated from the project exported stats XML file and if this cannot be downloaded successfully (perhaps due to an overwhelmed/under-powered project server) then this websites FB stats tables cannot be updated. Perhaps the BOINC-AF stats collection is achieved slightly differently and so that is updating OK but it isn't on here?

I've contacted an Asteroids admin, so hopefully it can be fixed...but this is outside of my or Sebastiens control, so we just have to be patient and in time hope that the stats should catch up.
