Hi all

There has been a slight issue with displaying the #1 Sprint stats, but they are updating and displaying correctly now. :-)

I have EXTENDED the deadline for the end of the Sprint by 4 hours, so as to compensate for any issues arising from the above.

The issue was quite minor and Sebastien fixed it very quickly 8-) ).

Hi all

The battle in League 1 is getting very interesting:

Code: Select all

Pos.	Team FB Pts	Sprint credits
1	BOINC@AUSTRALIA 25	4,913,720
2	Planet 3DNow! 18	4,640,020
3	The Scottish Boinc Team	15	4,569,180
4	SETI.USA 12	4,398,060
5	L'Alliance Francophone	10	4,228,320
6	Rechenkraft.net 8	1,278,340
7	SETI.Germany 6	718,060
8	Czech National Team	4	256,680
9	Ukraine 2	89,240
So, FIVE teams are battling for the top position !!

And just about 24 hours to go (to the EXTENDED finishing time).

Hi all

I just had a message back from the NumberFields admin:
Hi Tim,

The sprint went well, at least from the NumberFields perspective. We got about double the usual throughput, which is great. Thanks!
So, to everyone who took part, your efforts were clearly much appreciated by the project, so well done for "doing your bit" !!

Hi all

I have made contact with the Project Admin at the randomly selected project for Sprint #2

Every league has the same project during each sprint, no matter which League each Team is in.

I await confirmation that their server will be able to cope with the expected high number of task downloads once the Sprint starts.

Hi all

The project selected for Sprint #2 is Asteroids

It looks very much like Asteroids website is running slow and it is issuing very few tasks.

The project status page seems to be stuck, even though the timestamp on the page is updating.

So, I will leave it until this evening, but it is MOST LIKELY if the website continues to be unresponsive, that I will SHORTEN the deadline so the Sprint will end early.

I have two alternatives:
1) Appoint a new project to take over and to end at the same time
2) To abandon this Sprint totally, as if the F1 race was red-flagged and the result will be whatever the final credits show. (as I want to be fair to anyone who has already earned some credits).

Slow YES, but very few tasks ? I have a little bit more than 7.000 tasks, that is not very few !

Is this a championship or a Cake wreaths ? Winds may be rough, from the wrong side but all this is part of a real championship !

I have spent many hours to bring my bolides on the right track and now all shall be for nothing?

Number one is not a real alternative, in FormulaOne this wouldn't be possible.

My suggestion: talk / mail with the Project-Admin and hear first what his suggestions are. Can he fix something on his server / is he available for help / ...

Hi

OK, then as long as you and other members are actually crunching the tasks AND youa are able to upload them successfully, then I will wait and see how things progress.

I am not sure what a Cake wreath is but I get your meaning.

My plan #2 would be to just shorten the Sprint and members would be awarded FB points based on their totals at the new ending time.

So, your efforts would not be for nothing !

Yes, you are right, the analogy with F1 would not work if Plan #1 was attempted.

I would love to contact the admin, but the website is so slow and it just times out when I try to change to my profile so I can send a PM.

I really hope the admins know about this problem, but so far when I view the messageboard, NO ONE has made any comments...but maybe this is because no one can ACCESS the message boards?

Okay, so for your next Pre-Flight-Checklist: Ask the Admin for a contact-way outside the message-boards for situations like this
