Hi all
I have have already been in contact with the Project Admin at the randomly selected project for Sprint #21.
I am advised that their server will be able to cope with the expected high number of task downloads once the Sprint starts.
Please note:
Once Sprint #21 is over, there is a break from 3rd November until Sprint #22 starts on 21st November, and then there are 3 consecutive weekends of Sprints, after which, this will mark the end of the Sprint Challenges for 2024.
regards
Tim

Re: Sprints 2024 - timetable and projects selected
Hi all
The chosen project admin confirmed that they can support the forthcoming Sprint
Therefore, the randomly selected project for Sprint #21 is SRBase
Once again, thanks to Reb @ SRBase, there should be lots of tasks available, so I'm sure we'll do our best to support this project

So, the combined efforts from FB DOUBLED the throughput of all the other NumberFields crunchers over the course of the long weekend.Hi Tim,
Just wanted to thank you (and the crunchers) regarding the recent FB sprint. The project completed WUs at over twice the usual rate, which is very nice to see.
A VERY WELL DONE is therefore extended to all participants of the 19th Sprint.

Hi all
There are now just 3 Sprints left for this season.
And the next one starts this week !
I have attempted to make contact with the Project Admin at the randomly selected project for Sprint #22.
I await confirmation that their server will be able to cope with the expected high number of task downloads once the Sprint starts.

Re: Sprints 2024 - For Willy de Zutter of BOINCstats
Hi all
I was not aware that Willy had had a lot of medical issues since about 2021...and it seems that he has decided to stop treatment and to wait and see how his condition changes.
You can read the background to his condition, and his latest update, on his forum here:
https://www.boincstats.com/forum/1,1/12703,1
And it is nice to see that PrimeGrid are going to re-dedicate the December Challenge in his honour:
https://www.primegrid.com/forum_thread.php?id=10713
So, I hope anyone who has any crunching ability available to them can join our newly added 25th Sprint of the year for a great cause as this will coincide with the PrimeGrid Challenge of "finding the first known GFN-21 in his honor during this challenge, which will run from December 10th at 18:15:00 UTC for 10 days until December 20th 18:14:59 UTC on our GFN Prime Search (n=21) project."
The stats are going to be shown here:
https://www.formula-boinc.org/sprints.p ... printid=51
So, as a gesture of support for Willy, please get as many friends, team members and/or other colleagues to crunch the GFN-21 sub-project for Wily during these days and let's really stress the Prime Grid servers
regards
Tim
PS: Sadly, I cannot prevent FB points from being awarded for this extra Sprint...but in real terms, I doubt any team or individual is going to change their relative position in the League tables by much, when these extra FB points are added to the "official" FB Marathon and Sprint results. At the end of the day, it would just be nice to be able to tabulate how much effort the FB "family" have made towards this specific and very special PG Challenge.

Question:
Will the stats for Willy's Challenge be only GFN-21 or will it just be generic PrimeGrid points?

Good question !
The stats collected will (probably) be for the *entire* PG project, although I believe that the PG exports stats file actually splits up the credits awarded by each sub-project but the current FB stats collection process adds them all together (although the LA'F stats website shows the different stats by each sub-project here):
https://statseb.boinc-af.org/synthese_m ... f&sort=rac
and then scroll to the lower "Tous les projets" section and click on the + sign next to PrimeGrid which will then show the sub-project stats.
But the current GFN stats do not appear on this page - but they may appear on another LA'F members page.
EDIT: But the LA'F team stats for PG GFN sub-projects are here:
https://statseb.boinc-af.org/classement ... ime+Search
So, the PG source of sub-project stats is available via their stats export file.
In the meantime, I do not think there is time for Sebastien to re-code the stats collection so that it *only* scrapes the GFN-21 sub-project stats from the PG source. (But I will ask him if he can...)
Of course in an ideal world, this would not be necessary, IF *FB* members just honour Willy by only selecting to crunch the GFN-21 sub-project -

Re: Sprints 2024 - timetable and projects selected
Hi all
The randomly selected project for the penultimate FB Sprint (number #23 if you are counting) has now been locked in.
It starts tomorrow, 28th November at 1700 UTC and I believe that there should be plenty of tasks available.
