It looks like "not many users" isn't it ? from AF team I see only a reduced list of members... what is the logic / how is it working / how can all the participants be listed there ?

Hiya

The Members League is totally voluntary and is just like a F1 Drivers Championship - and for the 2024 Season, the Members League has been split into 3 Leagues, based on last years performances.

But volunteers MUST register for this, so that their CPID can be used to collect and then display their stats. And this is why you only see a partial list of members from each Team that have already registered.

If more team members want to register, then they need to register here:

The topic is that [AF>France]Ironman is registered but if he looks in marathon detail page he has no credit for PGFN for instance, and he knows he is producing credit on that project.

He also mentioned Einstein but he found that he had to consent for stat export, he did it and now he has credits on FB page now, but there is no such parameter on PGFN and he has no credits there in FB when he has in his project stats.

Hi

OK, so firstly, Ironman only signed up for PGFN just 2 days ago

From the PGFN website it says:
PRIVATE GFN SERVER member since 24 Mar 2024
Secondly, from the FB logs for PGFN project, I can see that it says:
Last contact : 2024-03-26 10:30:02 UTC
Last update : 2024-03-25 13:25:06 UTC

2024-03-25 13:30:03 UTC : Adding userid 471 ([AF>France]Ironman)
So, the FB stats system did add his PGFN account on it's update yesterday at 13:30pm.

But no update to the stats has happened since then, so as he earns credits on his PGFN account then he will start to see his FB stats increase (as the FB stats website only shows NEW credits and any increase in the credit value, since the day of joining this project).

And looking at his host computers on PGFN website:

http://boincvm.proxyma.ru:30080/test4vm ... stid=12209

He has earned some credits since joining the project on "2024-03-25 13:30:03 UTC" but the FB logs have NOT updated since then. But they will soon enough !!

So, maybe he is worrying too quickly and he should be a little bit more patient for maybe one or two more days?

Hi all

The mid-season Promotions and Demotions of the Members League has now taken place and those Members who have made the effort to support the various projects during each of the 14 FB Sprints that have been held so far have been rewarded based on the TOTAL number of BOINC credits earned over the 14 Sprints.

So, CONGRATULATIONS, if you have been promoted and commiserations if you have not earned enough BOINC credits over the last 14 Sprints and hence have been demoted.

Hopefully this re-alignment of members will make it a little more competitive in each Members League over the next 10 Sprints !!

The mid-season Team League Promotions and Demotions can be found here>> viewtopic.php?p=3806#p3806.

regards
Tim

PS: I have tried to be fair and understanding to *all* Members, but these changes are based on Members actual stats and they have been made in order to increase the competition in each League. As such, I take full responsibility for these changes. However, if anyone wants to query anything then please PM me and I will provide the background info and stats as to WHY any specific change(s) has been made.

Hi Tim,

good to see some movements in the Formula Boinc.

I've been promoted from League 3 to League 2, great news!
But my ranking on each project "stays" in League 3 (no ranking at all in League 2), so where will go my new earned credits? Will I see two rankings, one in League 3 and a new one in League 2? Or is it just a question of time to see League 3 rankings moved to League 2?

I think it's also the same thing for promoted/demoted teams.

Thanks.

Hi Alain

Thanks for your message - and yes, these specific changes should have been available last year, but due to coding issues they did not happen and subsequently, Sebastien has tidied up the code for this year and it now works.

You've been promoted to League 2, due to your great efforts, as your TOTAL BOINC credits earned on 14 Sprints is 16,471,601 - which is of the same order of magnitude as Members who were in League 2.

So, the short version of what *should* happen is that credits earned in the previous 14 Sprints should be retained. And once the next Sprint takes place, so any subsequent FB points that you (or any other member) earn as a member of a different League, should be added to your existing FB points (in your case, currently 78).

https://formula-boinc.org/index.py?stan ... n=2&race=2

HOWEVER: Sebastien has NOT advised me that this will be the case, as he is currently not responding to emails and so I can only make an educated guess as to how this will pan out.

And it does mean that some previously lower League members would have earned more FB points for a given number of BOINC credits, than a member in a higher League who maybe earned MORE FB credits but actually received fewer FB points (due to the greater levels of competition in the higher Leagues).

There's not a lot we can do about this - it's just how the coding works, as it would be next to impossible to recalculate ALL the 14 Sprint Members placings and FB points (in each League) based on the new League memberships.

But the League tables have updated already and once things settle down, after the next few Sprints, then I think there'll be more competition for FB points.

regards
Tim
