Why not drop it from the Sprints? I think it only runs Numberfields anyway (SubField 7) and NumberFields is included in the Sprint list.

Hi
Yes, I know they are basically offering NumberFields type tasks, hence why they share admins (via Eric Driver).
It would be a pity to drop it, as a) it has a different mix of teams and members who've joined it, and b) it allows FB members/teams to have an alternative source of tasks, as there seems to be a decreasing number of active projects, so having options for each Sprint allows different members/teams to focus their efforts on different projects every fortnight or so.

Hi all
I have made contact with the Project Admin at the randomly selected project for Sprint #6
Every league has the same project during each sprint, no matter which League each Team is in.
I await confirmation that their server will be able to cope with the expected high number of task downloads once the Sprint starts.

Tim

Hi all
The project selected for Sprint #6 is
PrimeGrid (again !!)
If anyone feels bad about this choice, it is simply due to the fact that many projects have far fewer tasks available these days (or they are offline) so the number of projects from which to make a random selection is now quite limited.
And, of course, my hope is that everyone can have ready access to tasks and that the project infrastructure is strong enough to withstand a high demand both for downloads but also uploads, once the work unit has been completed.
EDIT: Please also note that I contact project admins IN ADVANCE of the random selection, to ensure that there will be enough tasks available - and in some cases, they will actually generate MORE tasks, just for the period of the Sprint...so, do not assume that monitoring every BOINC projects server status will give you any clue as to which active project will actually be chosen !!

Tim

Hi all
The project selected for Sprint #7 is
SiDock
https://formula-boinc.org/sprints.py?ra ... sprintid=9
There ARE tasks available:
https://www.sidock.si/sidock/server_status.php
But on one of my hosts BOINC Manager is displaying the message "Communications deferred for 23:59:50" (and counting down) which is nearly 24 hours !!!
.
Hope everyone has better luck than me.
(And PS The project admin said there would not be an issue !).
regards
Tim

I only get short tasks on ARM Linux 2-6 hours
Windows X86 only gets long tasks 33-36 hours (so will get two passes)
Linux X86 only gets long tasks 38-45 hours (will only get one pass, sprint ends at 1.5 days)
Its been like this for a long while
