The idea of the promotion/demotion function was to spice things up a bit and to reward those Teams/Members who do actually make an effort to have the chance to compete with other teams who make similar efforts.

And of course this might mean that TSBT have some real actual competition this year

And again the idea is to make each League more competitive, by pitching teams who earn similar average BOINC credits overall in the same Leagues as their nearest rivals.
