Re: Sprints 2024 - timetable and projects selected
Kudos to Sebastien for getting the stats working correctly! Primegrid challenges (thus Formula BOINC in this specific sprint) do award credit prior to the task validating and then Primegrid claws the credit back after the fact (in the "cleanup phase") if a task fails validation. It's prett...

Re: Sprints 2024 - timetable and projects selected
The problem is that I can never know HOW anyone would be able to cheat any BOINC project, into falsifying the BOINC credits they have earned. And if there is a way for this to happen then someone who is in charge of running the project must lock down the project to ensure only accredited uploads ar...

Re: Sprints 2024 - timetable and projects selected
One of the SiDock admins made a post about it "SiDock@home is not F1..." Based on this, and I think the data speaks for itself, I guess the question comes up on how stuff like this is handled moving forward. I've been a proponent of our team rejoining Formula BOINC in the past, but I thin...

Re: Date format
The real pressing question is whether or not the Formula BOINC server is using solid state drives or spinning disks

Re: Suggested Sprint Projects for 2022
TN-Grid should be off the list. They don't generate WU's fast enough to supply crunchers with tasks. The only way to win at TN-Grid is constantly hammer the server for more tasks and hope you hammered the server more than the next person.

Re: Future of the Formula BOINC
My suggestions would be to abandon trying to copy the Formula 1 race schedule. It's a cool idea and everything, but it forces sprints to be scheduled when you wouldn't necessarily want them to be if you were planning a competition. Most of my other thoughts were somewhat covered by others, but I fig...

Re: Future of the Formula BOINC
However, there is no point in doing anything until Sebastien decides if FB is continuing (in 2022) and if any changes will take place, based perhaps on suggestions made on this forum.... ;-) regards Tim As an outside observer it kind of looks like it's dependent on whether you want to take the reig...

Re: Future of the Formula BOINC
Hi Thanks for your input. Firstly, there is nothing to stop FB creating a "team founders" section on this forum...to which any team founder could be admitted. Then it would be easy to get feedback and pass on messages to each active and inactive team. Also, one can connect to team founder...

Re: Future of the Formula BOINC
Of course the question should be asked: Do these teams actually know about each Sprint? Or are the credits shown, just based on a teams "regular" support for each project? Maybe we need to send a request to each team BEFORE each Sprint to see if they WANT to be included? Those teams that ...

Re: Future of the Formula BOINC
I had brought this up before( https://formula-boinc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1982#p1982 ) but since we're discussing rules - There really needs to be a clearly posted code of conduct. Even if the posted code of conduct was "hey, there's no rules, do whatever you want!" it would at least c...
