Wat is Formula Boinc ?
FormulaBOINC (FB) is a competition for BOINC teams. It is based on the principle of the Formula 1 championship. Starting in 2017, the competition is composed of 2 groups of events:
- Marathons : each project is considered as a "Grand-Prix". The 10 best teams on each project get a fixed number of FB points.
- Sprint : 20 events of 3-days throughout the year, according to the schedule of the Formula 1 championship. Each sprint will involve only one project. The chosen project will only be known 24 hours before the start of the sprint. The top 10 teams on each sprint are given a fixed number of FB points.
The teams selected for the FB are divided into three divisions of 25 teams. The distribution of teams depends on the number of active members (RAC> 100) on each project.

- 1rste = 25 punten FB
- 2de = 18 punten FB
- 3de = 15 punten FB
- 4de = 12 punten FB
- 5de = 10 punten FB
- 6de = 8 punten FB
- 7de = 6 punten FB
- 8ste = 4 punten FB
- 9de = 2 punten FB
- 10de = 1 punt FB
Het uiteindelijke doel van de Formula Boinc Trophy is meer dan simpelweg een nieuwe statssite te zijn met zijn winnaar. Het doel is om de competitie tussen de teams te promoten over alle projecten heen en niet alleen bij diegene die veel credits geven.
Daar elk project hetzelfde gewicht heeft binnen deze trophy is geen enkel project meer of minder interessant dan een ander.
Dit zal ook een hulp zijn voor kleine projecten nu er steeds meer projecten het Boinc-platform gaan gebruiken.
