What is Formula Boinc ?

Formula Boinc (FB) is a ranking system for the Boinc teams, based on the principle of the Formula 1 Championship. Each project is considered as a "Grand-Prix". The 10 best teams on each project get a fixed number of FB points. The general Formula Boinc ranking is simply obtained by adding all FB points of each team.

This way, the number of credits (cobblestones) of each team counts less than its ranking and the number of projects each team is participating in.

Formula Boinc points :
1st = 25 points FB
2nd = 18 points FB
3rd = 15 points FB
4th = 12 points FB
5th = 10 points FB
6th = 8 points FB
7th = 6 points FB
8th = 4 points FB
9th = 2 points FB
10th = 1 point FB

The ranking will be established on a yearly basis and updated daily. From 2008 onwards, the FB ranking will be calculated on the basis of credits accrued during the year.So each team gets a new chance to enter the FB hall of fame.

The final goal of the Formula Boinc Trophy, more than simply being a new stats site with its winner, is to promote competition between teams on all projects and not on particularly crediting ones.
Each project having the same weight in this trophy, no project is more or less interesting than another
This should also help small or new projects at a time when more and more projects are joining the Boinc platform.
